La Trappe ha prodotto diverse "Quadrupel" in edizione limitata (disponibile dal 18/06/2010), invecchiate per un anno in botti di rovere utilizzate in precedenza per porto, vino bianco e whisky. A seconda del lotto impresso sull'etichetta, è possibile risalire al tipo di botte usata (consulando il sito del birrificio).

For this beer, the following barrels were used in the following proportions:

New Oak Medium Toast 27%
Port Medium Toast (French Oak) 9%
La Trappe Q. Medium Toast (French Oak) 18%
La Trappe Q. Medium burnt (American Oak) 36%
New Oak Heavy Toast 10%
Batch 4 was the last port based barrel. For the next few batches we will use white wine barrels. After that, we will respectively use red wine and whiskey barrels.
